Cry tears of joy. Cry tears of pain. Allow the emotions to come out. This is not weakness, for the Holy Spirit, too, grieves. When you allow yourself to “feel”, when you allow yourself anything at all, then you begin to live. You don’t need to act out on the emotions… just allow yourself to feel them. Don’t stay in “places” of pain. Don’t dwell on them. But do allow things to come out. Focus then on joy, the things that bring you peace and happiness. Look for ways to improve your life, for ways to improve others’ lives. This does not mean to be controlling. This does not mean trying to change others. Allow others to grow. Be there for support and guidance if needed. Discern when to step in and when to back off. You cannot manage the world and others. It is not your job to do.
