Welcome to “A Litttle Light”… Inspirational Tees, Books, and More
“… the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” (John 1:5)
Fall has fallen, and it is a wonderful time of the year to see and experience the beauty of God’s creation. From brightly colored leaves to crisp morning air to luscious apples, this season of shortening days draws our hearts and minds to family, friends, traditions, and God’s majesty. We feel blessed to experience the natural rhythm of the changing seasons.
And God has blessed His Holy Church with a beautiful liturgical calendar wherein we can observe the spiritual rhythm of the ordinary, penitential, and solemn seasons. The month of November is dedicated to the Holy Souls. Let us remember in our prayers all of the Holy Souls who have died that we may speed them along to Heaven. They can then pray for us to help us on our Earthly pilgrimage as we journey toward Heaven.
Everyone must prepare every day (for his or her eternity). Memento Mori: remember your death. For in remembering your death you will learn to live well.
“Each man receives his eternal retribution in his immortal soul at the very moment of his death, in a particular judgment that refers his life to Christ: either entrance into the blessedness of heaven–through a purification or immediately,–or immediate and everlasting damnation.” ~Catechism of the Catholic Church (1022)
What a perfect time of year to devote ourselves to the Holy Souls and to remembering them in our prayers. Our daily devotional book Into the Quietude is filled with thoughts for reflection on God’s guidance for living well as we practice Memento More and is an ideal accompaniment to your time of prayer.
Remaining physically active is important as the weather gets cooler and the temptation to hibernate gets stronger. Getting out into the garden to plant some cool weather vegetables, like kale, is something many people like to do for exercise. Plant-based eating is even more enjoyable when fresh ingredients from the garden can be included in your recipe ingredients. Our book, Change the Food, Change the World, details the many benefits of adopting a whole food, plant-based diet. Both our Change the Food, Change the World book and tee shirts point to the Holy connection that exists between our Creator and our food and can remind you and those around you to eat a little more mindfully, healthfully, and avoid chronic diseases (like heart disease and diabetes) that can make you most vulnerable to the ill-effects of pathogens, like Coronavirus.
All of our tees are a comfy addition to your fall wardrobe. These specially designed tees are great pointers to God and make perfect gifts for birthdays and holidays.
