Welcome to “A Litttle Light”… Inspirational Tees, Books, and More
“… the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” (John 1:5)
September commemorates the Seven Sorrows of Mary reminding us of the events in the Blessed Mother’s life that pierced her heart as they related to her beloved Son, our Lord Jesus Christ. Catholics can honor the Blessed Mother by doing acts of reparation and by praying the Chaplet of Seven Sorrows using the rosary, giving us the opportunity to meditate on the many sorrows of Mary.
“O God, at Whose Passion, according to the prophecy of Simeon, a sword of sorrow pierced the most sweet soul of the glorious Virgin and Mother Mary; mercifully grant, that we who with devotion honor her Sorrows, may obtain the happy fruit of Thy Passon: Who livest and reignest.”*
September also marks the beginning of fall for many of us. While the days may still be warm in many areas there are hints of autumn all around… changing leaves, shorter days, and cooler mornings… a welcome change from the oppressive heat that summer can bring. Fall (and even Christmas!) decor is also adorning many of the stores.
What a beautiful time of year to remember that even during the changing seasons of the calendar and of our lives the Lord remains the same loving us, guiding us, granting us His mercy and grace, and saving us. What a perfect time to devote ourselves to the Lord and to His sacrifice for us, as well as, to His Blessed Mother and to the sorrows she suffered. Our daily devotional book Into the Quietude is filled with thoughts for reflection on God’s renewing love for us and is a perfect accompaniment to your time of prayer and other devotions.
The cooler weather of fall makes it a perfect time to become more active. Getting outside to enjoy God’s beauty can renew us physically and mentally. Looking at a clear blue sky, colorful leaves, or ocean waves can be truly refreshing.
We, like many people, enjoy delicious plant-based comfort foods like stews, soups, and casseroles that warm us when there is a chill in the air. Simple ingredients and a crock pot or pressure cooker can make plant-based eating super easy. Our book, Change the Food, Change the World, details the many benefits of adopting a whole food, plant-based diet.
Both our Change the Food, Change the World book and tee shirts point to the Holy connection that exists between our Creator and our food and can remind you and those around you to eat a little more mindfully, healthfully, and avoid chronic diseases (like heart disease and diabetes) that can make you most vulnerable to the ill-effects of pathogens, like Coronavirus and Flu. All of our tees are a comfy addition to your spring and summer wardrobes. These specially designed tees are great pointers to God and make perfect gifts for birthdays and holidays.
